Well, as I said before, after the hard drive crash I constructed a second trailer, which when I think about it, is as good or even better than the first. I like to show off my work to my friends and one friend of mine I listened to his suggestion that the trailer was far too vague to pique his interest. There was no substance to it to understand anything happening.
What I saw as a series of images, disjointed and loosely meaningful, he saw as confusion and noise. It needed a little help, so I supplied captions. This may not be the best idea, maybe I could use a voice over and that would make the reading of the trailer obsolete and also easier to digest. Still, there is a nagging problem of time and expense. A voice over actor will cost even more money and time.
Just to jump ahead to the next post, time is a financial cost of its own. Money is a time reducer on its own. Like time and space, money and time can be manipulated. If you do it yourself it’ll cost less money but take more time. If you pay for it it will cost more money but take less time.
The trailer needs more work for a certainty, but at least it has been recovered and there is a foundation to tweak and work on until it’s just right. Many tweaks to go, so maybe calling them tweaks and not overhauls is a misnomer, but a big job scaled down to two dozen smaller jobs is a way to approach complex matters in my book.
So here is the trailer so far. I hope you enjoy.
